Right now the biggest goats taken every year on the average are from British Columbia and the majority of these areas require some horseback access into remote valleys and drainages. Of course you still have to climb to the goats but the advantage of having pack animals carry you and your gear several miles every day into areas where you can glass for goats is incredible. It keeps you fresh for the climb to the goats and makes you a more effective hunter. We have three different areas – all with the same cost, trophy quality, and success rate. British Columbia Backpack Hunts..............................................................................................$7,500.00
For hunters on a budget who are in fantastic condition a backpack hunt can be very rewarding and successful. You do not sacrifice trophy quality but hunters who show up in less than peak physical condition will most likely not complete this hunts. We normally fly our clients and guides into a remote lake where there are a lot of goats. Hunters and guides back pack to the top of the mountain where they set up a spike camp and stay until a trophy goat is harvested. Price is all inclusive of license, tag, tax, etc…
NWT Helicopter Goat Hunts.....................................................................................................$8,950.00
Older hunters or people with less than acceptable levels of physical fitness who still want to hunt for goats should book our NWT mountain goat hunts. These hunters and their guides are flown by helicopter to the top of the mountain where they set up spike camps. The goats are lower than camp and this allows our clients to hunt down rather than up. It is very rare that we will book someone on a goat only hunt – due to increased helicopter expenses we reserve the right to only book these goat hunts in the future in combination with mountain caribou, dall sheep, or moose. Alaska’s Mountain Goat Hunts.................................................................................................$8,950.00
Alaska’s Prince William Sound has a huge population of world class mountain goats. These hunts are all done by backpack hunting into some rugged and steep country. Trophy quality is excellent with several 8 ½ to 9 ½ inch trophies taken every year. We prefer to run these hunts exclusively in October and November when the goats have exceptional hair quality. Hunt cost does not include approximately $450 in license and tag fees. Hunt is for seven days guided 1x1, possible discount for 2x1 guided hunter pairs. Call for details.
