Western Colorado has become one of the hottest destinations for trophy mule deer hunting. We have three different outfitters along the western slope of Colorado – they are located in the Dolores, Montrose, and Grand Juntion regions and operate on thousands of acres of private lands with individual ranches that range in size from 5,000 acres to 35,000 acres. Hunters stay in a nice lodge facility and access private lands in agricultural areas exclusively by 4wd to spot and stalk hunt for bucks as they enter and depart the fields. High densities of mule deer live in this area and it is not uncommon to see 100-150 deer a day while in the field. On some of the properties we offer archery hunts from ground blinds or spot n stalk in late August and early September, mid September muzzleloader hunts, and then October and early November rifle mule deer hunts. Licenses are normally obtained easily through the draw with an early April license application deadline – however our properties are normally booked full well before this time. Unsuccessful applicants will have the option of buying a landowner permit for an additional $1000 to $1500 average cost. When the elk season is open all of our mule deer hunters will have the option to hunt elk in combination if the proper elk license is obtained. All hunting packages include 2x1 guide ratio, meals, lodging, airport pickup, and field care of meat & trophy. Contact our office for dates and availablilty.
