At this time our primary elk hunt in Colorado is on a 120,000+ acres enrolled in the state’s Ranching for Wildlife program. This allows us to book our clients on weapon of choice hunts from early September through mid December each fall. The hunters are all guaranteed an elk license without the risk of a draw and get to benefit from hunting elk when they are most vulnerable, during the rut and then on the winter range. This private land has both phenomenal summer/fall range and pristine winter range, meaning our clients will always have elk to hunt regardless of the weather. Almost all of our clients stay in our lodging facilities down at the main ranch, however during the early season we do utilize a modern cabin camp in the high country in September and early October before the snows push all of the elk down to the lower portions of the ranch. Both locations have a full time cook on staff and hot meals compliment comfortable accommodations. The guide staff is one of the best “teams” we have ever hunted with – bar none. We call them a team because they work like a team. Each guide helping the other guides to make sure that all of the hunters in camp have a world class experience and the best possible odds for success. In field transportation can be either horses or mules for those clients who want to experience western big game hunting the old fashioned way, or you can request to hunt from 4wd trucks and/or Polaris Ranger 4x4s during your hunt. Our clients have experienced a 98% success rate on harvested bulls over the last few seasons and we have even killed some pretty good bulls.
