We are fortunate enough to get one spring permit and two fall permits each year for our clients. Due to the exclusive nature of these special grizzly permits and the extremely high grizzly populations in British Columbia our clients have an exceptional success rate on some beautiful interior grizzlies each season. Here are the details on each hunt:

We get one permit each spring in the Kootenai Region of SE British Columbia in the Rocky Mountains. This region has a tremendous population of grizzlies and our hunters go in on horseback to hunt remote rock slides and open hillsides for spring bears feeding on spring grasses and wild onion patches. This is a mountainous hunt that does require some physical ability but it is not horribly difficult. The hunts are done the last week of May and the first five days of June when the bears are all out and the rut is well underway. Our clients will typically see several grizzlies over the course of a ten day hunt and they are allowed to take two black bears as part of their hunting package. Contact our office for availability and realize that with only one permit each spring the tag is booked out well in advance.

We get two permits in a special area of the Northern Rockies and the season is late August through October – however this hunt has to be structured properly with our clients required to book an elk or moose hunt in combination with the grizzly permit. While the area has a tremendous population of grizzlies the best way to hunt them is over a fresh kill site. We like to book our grizzly hunters into our camps the first weeks of September. They have full hides and beautiful coats at this time and they are feeding heavily to get prepared for the October snows that will drive them into their dens.
